Privacy Policy

Starseed is where Steve Ahnael Nobel’s transmissions, meditations, affirmations and ascension news are published. This policy explains what we record when you use it, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so if anything here is unclear, please write to us and we will explain it properly.

1. Who we are

You can reach us at any time at support@thesoulmatrix.com. If you would rather write about a privacy matter specifically, use the same address and say so in the subject line — it goes to the same people either way.

2. What we collect

2.1 What you give us

• Your email address and a password, which is how you sign in. We never see the password itself — it is hashed before it reaches us.
• A display name, and optionally a photograph and a location, if you choose to add them to your profile.
• Which notifications you want: announcements, events, replies to your comments, and ticket reminders. Each is a separate choice and each can be turned off.
• Anything you write — comments on posts, reviews of a recording, or a message sent through the contact form.
• If you buy a ticket or make a donation, the name you give and a reference from our payment processor. Card details are entered on the processor’s own page and never reach our servers.

2.2 What we record as you listen

• Which recordings you have played and roughly how far through you were, so that you can pick up where you stopped.
• What you have saved to your library, and any collections you have made.
• Which notifications you have read, so that we do not show you the same one twice.

Search terms are recorded so that we can see what people cannot find and publish it. They are stored without any link to you — there is no account column on that record at all, so a search cannot be traced back to the person who made it, by us or by anyone else.

2.3 What we do not do

There are no third-party analytics scripts on this site, no advertising trackers, and no pixels from social networks. Nobody is building a profile of you here. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing — not now and not as a policy we might quietly change.

3. Why we hold it, and on what basis

• To give you the service you asked for — your account, your library, your place in a recording, a ticket you bought. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• Because you asked us to — notification emails, and anything else you have switched on. Consent, and you can withdraw it in your settings whenever you like.
• To keep the place usable and safe — moderating comments, responding to reports, preventing abuse. Our legitimate interests, balanced against yours.
• Because the law requires it — donation and ticket records have to be kept for tax and accounting purposes even after an account is gone.

4. Who else touches it

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these does one job, under contract, and none of them may use your information for their own ends:

• Supabase — the database, sign-in, and file storage.
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the site itself.
• Stripe — payments for tickets and donations. Card details go to Stripe directly.
• Resend — the emails we send you.
• Cloudflare R2 — where the audio files are stored and served from.
• Eventbrite — where some events originate before appearing here.

5. Cookies and what your browser stores

One cookie matters: the one that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary — without it you would be signed out on every page — and it is scoped so that a single sign-in works across this site and the app. Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your own browser and never sent to us. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why this site does not greet you with a consent banner.

6. How long we keep it

• Your account and everything attached to it: for as long as the account exists.
• Donation and ticket records: seven years after the transaction, because tax law requires it.
• Search terms: indefinitely, but they were never linked to you.
• Support emails: two years, then deleted.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from your account settings — or by writing to support@thesoulmatrix.com. It is a deletion and not a deactivation: nothing is held back in case you change your mind.

Precisely what happens:

• Deleted immediately — your sign-in credentials, your profile, your comments and likes, your saved recordings and collections, your reviews, your tickets and any subscription.
• Kept, but no longer linked to you — donation records, which we are obliged to retain, and play counts, which become part of an anonymous total. Both have your account reference removed, so neither points at you afterwards.

That split is the honest answer to the question: everything that identifies you goes, and the few things that legally cannot go stop identifying you.

8. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it to you in a portable form, or object to a particular use. You can also withdraw consent for anything you switched on. We will answer within one month and we will not charge you.

If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it, but that right is yours regardless.

9. Where your information is held

Our providers operate in the UK, the European Economic Area and the United States. Where information reaches the United States it is protected by the safeguards those providers have in place, including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Children

Starseed is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly hold information about them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

11. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and, for anything significant, email you before it takes effect. The date at the top is when it last changed. We will not make a material change quietly.
